Hard to believe, but we are next door neighbors and when Susan wanted to fulfill her dream of opening a knitting store, she asked Harriet to give her an opinion about a space….within three days they were an LLC and Knit-a-Bit became a reality! We are here to have fun and we still are!

Susan worked for Crate&Barrel for over 10 years and was passionate about knitting and was ready for a change.

Harriet, another avid knitter, had been in corporate relocation and had recently faced a lay off. Together, they have made an ideal pairing and both are proud of the fact that they filled a niche in the town of Westfield.

Both lead active lives outside of the store…..Susan has two boys and Harriet has two grown boys and three grandchildren…(yes, she has grandchildren) and continue the loving, bantering as next door neighbors! 

By the way, Susan hates raisins and Harriet hates eggs!
